So when Hilton-Baird Collection Services was approached by a publishing firm that was in the process of dissolving one part of its operation in the UK, it was important the team was able to act quickly in order to maximise the recovery of outstanding debts worth £200,000.
A subsidiary of France-based publishers Spir Communication Group, Dolphin Magazines and its London-based property magazine, London Agents, were to be closed down due to poor trading.
The monthly publication was delivered to all houses within the post code areas of London, with local estate agents and affiliates encouraged to advertise inside. But once the business’ customers learnt that London Agents was to be closed, it became more of a challenge to collect the debt due and Hilton-Baird had to overcome numerous complications to provide a successful conclusion for the overseas stakeholders.
By calling upon all the team’s expertise in the commercial debt recovery arena and making the most of its multilingual capabilities, Hilton-Baird was able to get to work on contacting the debtors to recover the debts and, where appropriate, agree negotiated settlements whilst following instructions from the client.
