In 2013, our client was looking for support with the shortfall recovery aspect associated with the various asset finance lending functions they provide. Hilton-Baird Collection Services had robust experience in recovery for a variety of lenders and were the right fit to fulfil their recovery requirements.
Since the relationship started, Hilton-Baird’s team has provided support at a pre-defined period within the recovery cycle, on an ongoing basis, to proactively assist the client’s recoveries team, add specialist expertise to the process and maximise collections results.
As can be the case in asset finance matters, after the sale proceeds have been applied to the agreement, a residual balance remains owing to our client on the agreement. Where our client’s own collection cycle hasn’t resulted in the full balance being recovered, the account is passed to Hilton-Baird’s team to conduct unsecured debt collection and recover the shortfall from a variety of their clients, from individuals who may have signed a guarantee to sole traders and active limited businesses.
In addition to this, in some instances, Hilton-Baird’s team works with debtors to ensure the equipment is voluntarily surrendered back to our client’s chosen agents to allow for the assets to be sold.
Hilton-Baird’s focus is on quick resolutions and getting the best result for our client. The trust that has been built throughout the years of working together means that our client is happy for Hilton-Baird’s team to act autonomously to this end by negotiating repayment plans and full and final settlements on their accounts.
